This Privacy Policy describes how Water Tracker (“the App”) handles information when you use it on your device.

1. What the App does

Water Tracker helps you log water intake, set a daily goal, view history and simple analytics, and receive optional reminders. Core features run on your device. The App does not require account registration and does not provide its own cloud login for storing your hydration data.

2. Data stored on your device

To work offline and remember your choices, the App stores information locally on your device using:

Local app storage (including structured storage such as Hive) for drink events and related history.
Shared preferences for settings such as language, units, daily goal, cup sizes, profile-related inputs you choose to enter (for example wake/sleep times or weight used to personalize reminders), reminder schedules, and notification-related preferences.

This data is used only to provide App functionality on your device. We do not operate backend servers that receive or host this hydration database for the App in the way a cloud account would.

3. Permissions (Android)

Depending on your Android version and settings, the App may request or use:

Notifications — to show drink reminders you enable in the App.
Exact alarms / schedule exact alarm — to schedule reminders at the times you choose (where supported by the system).
Receive boot completed — so that scheduled reminders can be restored after the device restarts.

These permissions are used for reminder delivery and related scheduling. They are not used to access your contacts, messages, or photos.

4. Information we do not intentionally collect through the App

The App does not intentionally collect your name, email address, or phone number through the App itself for registration. Any health-related inputs you enter (such as weight or times) are stored locally as described above unless you choose to share them outside the App yourself.

5. Data collected by third-party services

The App uses third-party services that may process certain data automatically:

Google AdMob — to show in-app advertising. AdMob may process identifiers and usage data (for example advertising ID where available, IP address, and ad interaction signals).
Google Fonts — fonts may be loaded as part of the user interface; network requests may occur according to how fonts are delivered.

These providers may process limited technical and diagnostic data as described in their policies.

6. How we use information

To provide hydration tracking, reminders, and App settings
To remember your preferences locally on the device
To display and optimize in-app advertising (via AdMob)
To maintain notification scheduling where supported by the operating system

7. Third-party policies

The App uses Google AdMob. Data processing by Google is governed by Google’s own policies:

8. Data retention

Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it from within the App (where available), clear app data, or uninstall the App. Data collected for advertising or related services is handled by the respective third-party providers under their retention policies.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is not specifically directed to children under the age required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to address the issue.

10. Your choices

You can limit ad personalization through your device privacy and advertising settings. You may disable notifications for the App in system settings. You may clear app data or uninstall the App to remove locally stored information.

11. Security

We rely on the security mechanisms of your device and operating system for local data storage. Third-party SDKs (such as advertising) are provided by their vendors under their own security practices.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
